Thanks for the invite, but even by design crowds crazy low pricing you're offering a long long way short of what site design costs, let alone decent web design, so there is no way I could consider it I'm afraid.

Just to offer some helpful advice, if you want a professional to consider your job, then you will need to be more realistic with financial return being offered for the time and skill involved, as the $130 on offer doesn't come anywhere near close I'm afraid.

thank you for your reply and advice.

...but you do realize that the project is strictly for design/layout and not actual web design?

we are looking at the choices of colors, sizes, styles, column layouts, etc... it is really just a few areas of text on each page with a couple of buttons... meaning that everything is mostly boxes, lines, and text and there are no complex drawings required... i suspect that most of the graphic artists already have these page elements saved in their libraries and will simply need to place them effectively and choose a good color and font...

you may be right (but hopefully within our budget we will get a decent looking layout...)

thanks again!!!

We added another attachment containing additional details which might help in the design process.

someone asked a great question about the appearance of the listings. here is the answer:

1. a gold listing would appear above a silver, which would appear above a bronze listing.
2. the gold-silver-bronze listings will definitely look different than the free listings.
3. each city could have hundreds of free listings, maybe a few bronze, maybe 1-2 silver, 1 gold, 1 platinum... these are sample qtys of how many listings there might be...
4. the paid listings should all appear "above the fold" (no need to scroll down to see them) obviously, if the platinum listing appears on one side of the page then the other side might only have room for 4-6 listings, which means that if a city had more than 4-6 paid listings users might have to scroll down to see the lower ones...
5. as you suggested, the gold-silver-bronze could be differentiated by an icon or the actual styles used could be different... we are not attached to either of these two options. our only criteria is that it looks really great and is functional and effective...

Hello Everyone. We have received 15 total submissions (and re-submissions) from 5 designers. So far, we have found a couple that we like and many that we're not crazy about. Still, we are hoping in the final few days that one or two additional new designers will give it a shot so that we can compare different and fresh perspectives. We wish you all the best of luck and look forward to choosing the very best of the best for this project and for future work. Good luck! - "Fall seven times, stand up eight" (Japanese proverb)
