AI Vector source files you need to request from designers or you will have shabby quality, just a heads up it will cause you all kinds of problems in the future with print etc, even to the point where you have to get the design redone from scratch.

You need AI and ESP at minimum, proper designers should provide these and jpeg, png, psd, pdf if not then questions should be raised as to why. Designers must provide all these formats during hand over which ever design you choose to select so make sure you have them before awarding payment or contact design crowd. If you don't know what all the file formats are just trust that you need all of the above to carry out basic reproduction of the design.

Bsically all the formats will enable you to scale at high and low res, edit and ammend, print or put online, jpeg is un exceptable

Jpeg is no good? You just said it was?!. I agree though png psd etc would be best. Thanks

Jpeg "alone" is no good, you need AI, ESP, then follows png, psd, jpeg, pdf.

If you have AI and ESP you can create any format from those "source" files to adapt to your needs, but if you only have say jpeg, psd, pdf, png, you can not edit and scale which is where you will have problems in future adapting to resolutions for printing and different needs.

Im just saying, any designer offering you "jpeg" only is just not professional you cannot create custom graphics in any other format AI, or you will get really bad pixelated results, any designer that can only offer you jpeg only is questionable because of this fact and is likely it may be a photo shop image they ajusted from a stock image.

I dont like to think that guy asked is jpeg ok, and you say yes, you get ripped of, you need AI and ESP at min. Or be happy with a jpeg its up to you just trying to help you out

I get you now, you lost me there for a bit. AI adobe illustrator file? I am new at all this stuff. Thanks for the advice though

von inspiral am Montag, 21. November 2011

Yes exactly that, you can do every thing if your design was made in AI - Adobe Illustrator

you cant do bugger all with only a jpeg
