Front Cover for YA Medieval Fantasy/Adventure Book

I need a design for the front cover of a YA medieval fantasy/adventure story that will be sold on the Amazon Kindle Store.

The book will be part of a series, and the design I need is for the short story prequel. The design should be such that it can serve as a template of sorts, so that when used for future books across the series, the design of all the books will have a similar look/branding just by tweaking (for example) the sky background or any other element in the design.

The design should stand out even as a small thumbnail, and be attractive to the young adult target market for which the book is intended.
