I have been in the industry for the past 12 years and have worked as design lead, art director and creative head with various publishing houses, media companies and design firms Including Dorling Kindersley (India), Tehelka.com, Tehelka Magazine, Anant Media and The IdeaWorks. I cofounded Visual Vibe, a design studio, Knit Yarn 3, an ideas company and Mayek Projects, a collaborative design firm. I was one of the five finalists in the International symbol design competition on ‘Women and a Culture of Peace’, organised by UNESCO in 1997. In 2006, I co-authored and published ‘oh Damn!’ – A collection of daily cartoons. For the past 5 years, I have been focussing in the area of editorial design and branding have undertaken various design projects including Outlook magazine, Tehelka tabloid, Tehelka magazine, The Statesman, The Financial World and Daily Post. I have also contributed my design work to non-profit organisations including World Policy Journal, New York and Tikkun Magazine, San Francisco. Having worked in the industry for over a decade – print, branding and digital – I have handled projects of various complexities and scales – events, newspaper & magazine re-designs, web portal design & development, branding & re-branding corporate identities – and have led creative teams, worked hands-on to deliver results with efficiency both in terms of resources and time.
