Logo-Design Kurzbeschreibung

A new housewares company, EAT DRINK & BE LITERARY, will feature dinnerware and serveware items (think plates, mugs, teacups, bowls, barware, etc etc) all with a literary spin. From quotes on mugs to actual paintings/watercolors/decal on plates, all are centrally themed around books, literature and poetry.

We need a logo that will translate online (ecomm), print (logo will be used for packaging needs and sometimes on merchandise), as well as have it be inviting and eye catching across all social media platforms.

We want to find someone who has a nomadic and whimsical spirit just like the rest of us and also had a healthy obsession with books, art, design, being creative and thinking outside the box.

Specific merchandise will have a quote from a book, poem, author, etc inside the rim of a bowl for example or have a decal fused onto the stoneware/ ceramic) and we our designs will be in that of "lettering", decals or watercolor so we want a logo to reflect these elements if possible. We know that all will have a whimsical feel (think anthropolgie-esque dinner party with a bunch of book nerds in the simplest of terms) and since our background is fashion, philanthropy and business we are hoping to incorporate a high-fashion vibe with some of our watercolor pieces.

I realize this is a little vague (we hold degrees in business economics not design... and design is one of the most important parts!) but we are happy to provide you with any info you need to help you with your design.

We really like the idea of having the "E" in Eat be a sideways fork (to resemble the E) or have the y/Y in "Literary" be a wine glass or martini glass but we are struggling on how to convey the books/ literature portion to this logo. We are not stuck on the idea of the e as a fork and the y as a martini glass but these are the out of the box ideas that will hopefully tie the brand together... so please, come up with better, more inventive ideas!!

The final design should convey a whimsical feel and evoke feelings of wanderlust. We need to have it make direct correlations to food, good wine (or martini's!) and obviously, reading/ books/ literature.

We want to make sure that it looks expensive and is not an animated, cartoon like logo. We like the idea of adding an ink blot behind the words and really playing up the & sign. Honestly, we are business people and not the best creative designers so please help us out!

We want you to enjoy good food, good wine and good books just as much as we do and intend to brand the company around that.
