"Dear all. Habitual is an up and coming star on the Techno circuit. Hosted a great gig Saturday night. Highlighted as one of the top 3 up and coming DJs in York. Extremely exciting times for Habitual and getting traction on the club scene with interest from promoters in Leeds and Manchester.Looking for something edgy and off the charts. Please join Habitual and his team on this exciting journey. P&L Habitual"

Habitual is a DJ, voted best up and coming DJ in York. I play for numerous nights and have gained a following in recent months.

The origin of Habitual is it's reference to:

1. The habit like nature of the nights themselves (same crowd going to all these events etc.).

2. The infectious nature of the music Habitual plays - particularly the emphasis on percussion.


The important aspects to capture in my logo is the blending of sounds influenced by London and Detroit. I need to see how this would be translated visually. In terms of sound, the London influence is darker, Bass music and the Detroit influence is housier - specifically Jazz and funk referencing house. Also percussion and rhythm are extremely important in my sets and it'd be cool to get a kind of tribal motif in there. Finally, while i will have another alias for Hip Hop, it'd be great if there could be a nod to it (hip hop) in the logo.

• - Musically, my sets are dark yet playful which should definitely be conveyed in the logo.
• - Logo must clearly say "Habitual"
• - Simplicity is key
• - Must stand out from the crowd- nothing generic

Schön zu haben

• - Tribal influence- I'm a big fan of the tribal patterns seen in the photos below. Something that echoes that would be ideal.
• KEEP IT SIMPLE - key is the name: HABITUAL. Cutting edge.
