Logo-Design Kurzbeschreibung

We are a plumbing and heating company but we are now expanding into other trades. We want to update the logo and make changes so that it can be used as an umbrella logo (not specific to any one trade) and also so that it can be used in trade specific situations (i.e. the trade specific websites) with the use of an additional icon/element. The icon should be incorporated into the logo, and be in a uniform position. The icons should be clear and simple and in a standardised size. Examples could be a gas flame for plumbing, a bolt of electricity for electrical, a hammer for handymen, a house for building etc. the icons should also work in small formats such as a favicon. Icons are required for the following trades:

1. plumbing/drainage/gas
2. electrical
3. handymen
4. locksmiths
5. pest control
6. building/home improvements

The new logo must be representative of the existing logo so that we will be able to transition from the old logo to the new logo with both logos being clearly recognisable as being related during the transition phase which may take some time as the company has many branded vehicles and clothing in circulation. Ideally the logos will occupy a space of a similar size and shape as the existing logo.

So to summarise these are the two parts to this project:

1. The main general logo - not specific to any one trade. Should include the letters PGS and probably a version of the "swoosh" from the existing logo in order to maintain a recognisable element. in terms of colour we need to retain the blue colour (or at least similar blue colour) but the colour of the PGS text can be different although it needs to work in dark and light versions according to the background because the logo should work on both dark and light backgrounds. Certainly we would like to use a new font for the PGS text.

2. The trade specific elements/icons - these 6 different icons should be clear and simple and each represent a different trade. They should attach neatly to the main logo to form a trade specific logo which can be used on the different websites that are dedicated to each trade. At present we have no preference in terms of colour for these icons, they could all be the same colour or we'd be happy to see the different trades represented in different colours.

• Ideally when comparing the existing logo to the newly designed version it should be clear that the new logo is an updated and modernised version. This is because there will be a gradual transition process where the logos will exist at the same time (often side by side) while we phase out old vans and lines of clothing.
