Logo-Design Kurzbeschreibung

We need a logo design for a new school alternative: the San Francisco Schoolhouse.

As of September 2011, the Schoolhouse will be one room, two teachers and a small group of K-3rd grade children coming together with their families to learn, to mentor and to create a community. The Schoolhouse is a new option for families seeking a progressive, affordable education for their elementary-aged children.

Key elements of progressive education (and our program):
- Emphasis on learning by doing – hands-on projects, expeditionary learning, experiential learning
- Integrated curriculum focused on thematic units
- Strong emphasis on problem solving and critical thinking
- Group work and development of social skills
- Collaborative and cooperative learning projects
- Education for social responsibility and democracy
- De-emphasis on textbooks in favor of varied learning resources
- Emphasis on life-long learning and social skills
