Icon-Design Kurzbeschreibung

We are developing a new system to manage inspections (ie an inspector goes out to a "centre" to perform an inspection which covers say 100 questions/factors).
The home page is adopting Windows 8 style boxes and we are looking for icons for the top left corner of each box.
All icons are to be white and 40x25 pixels. They are all to be fairly simple in design. I am not looking for anything radically new/different - just something simple and straightforward.

MAIN ITEMS
We need icons for the following main functions:
Centres
Inspectors
Inspections
Self-Inspections
Certificates
Reports
Templates
Categories
Factors

NEW RECORDS
A version of each of the above but with a small asterisk/star shape in one corner to indicate "new". For example: New Centre, New Inspector etc

OTHER ICONS
We also need the same style of icons for the following:
Configuration
Change Password
Sign Out

Other info:
Centres: a centre could be a building or a site where an inspection takes place
Inspector: an inspector is a man or a woman! I was thinking maybe a magnifying glass could be a good icon but I'm open to other ideas
Certificates: when a centre passes an inspection they get a certificate
Templates: these are groups of factors (like questions) to be used on an inspection; they are grouped into categories
