What do you want to tell? (I do understand: A special treatment, based on laboratory examination of liver cells + computer software or hardware,...possibly cancer. Individualised medicine? A try, a plan for getting money for clinical studies? Mice as control group, - this seems not serious at treatment to special patient.)? To whom? (hospital manager, doctor, possible investors, patients???) Do you want to go by icons or by some photographic style? > This is a matter of final size and efforts)
Hi,
the uploaded pic represents how precision medicine is done in our Institute. This is not tumor specific e.g. liver. We have all type of cancer, just indicate a patient that gets a biopsy. The tumor tissue gets sequenced to find the genomic alteration that has given rise to and is driving the tumor. We try to find a target that we can hit with specific drugs, basically like personalized medicine. For that we use mice (patient derived xenografts) and in vitro models such as cells, very importan 2D (cells grown on plastic) an 3D, cells grown in a sphere. Important is the pic of the tumor sphere. Photographic style is probably more professional.
This pic goes into presentations and publications.
Thanks for reply, hope I got most;-) I would say: Doing by pictograms could be as same professional as photographs. Perhaps something in-between, maybe simplified 3D-elements.
I presume this is most to doctors or hospitals, searching for alternate therapies at difficult cases.
Dont know whether I find time, but anyway these informations could help any designer.
OK (still not sure whether to attend, but anyway;-)
- You take ill cells,
- a machine analyses the acting gens of the illness and makes proposals from a bank how to treat
- You cultivate the ill cells as very thin layer + complete cell structure and treat them according to the proposals of the machine
- Afterwords(?) you do tests of the treatment on mice with transplanted tissue, 2 generations
- At the end you get (hopefully;-) an individualized and tested medicine, as pill or liquid for injection
Yes?
So the sequence of the existing graphic is not really right, isnt it?
(The more I think about, I would suggest a non-photorealistic solution, getting away from poor plastic container, ill mice and man and the "Illumina 2500 DaDaDaDaaaaah" Or are you from Illumina or Natera?
I think, summarizing 3D-icons could show better the main points.)
Yes, I take cancer cells - all this is about finding a drug target for the patient specific cancer!
We have both ways, we either test the drugs we identified on mice or cells. That is called in vivo and in vitro models.
U basically got the concept very well!
Very smart Mr. Picture but unfortunatelly this a technical illustration and not some 2d/3d icon that you want to make.
(Its not me)

Hi there,
Just to let you know I will be working on your illustration, I am a graphic designer and technical illustrator. In the past I have worked for the University of Wales, Swansea and produced may illustrations just like the one you require for scientific journals, presentations etc, I have most recently worked for a large education publishing house - Scholastic - as a senior designer. So I am used to producing this kind of work.
I will submit a design as soon as possible, look forward to working with you.
Kind regards
Linda

Hi again,
while drawing the points to the max. reduced, another question appeared: The Illumiaa2500 (or whatever) analysis the proteins and suggests possible drugs or drug combinations. This suggestion (suggestions?) includes well established drugs. You (or the machine) are not generating especial proteins for treatment? Or do you?
Thanks Linda,
sounds great. I gave a talk today at the AACR a big conference in the field. I of course used my slide. Looking forwrd to your design. Best,
Chantal
