What size and resolution does the file need to be?

@EyeCandy,  for web 72dpi should work but I will also use the file later on for business card print and maybe a stationery.  I am not really sure how big the file should be. 

only just seen your project update message i shall ammend my design

300 res for source files - i think DC does like a scale thing that can make them look rubish, so i do 300 in Ai - scale to 1000x600
if that helps, works for me.
