Logo-Design Kurzbeschreibung

The person we are doing this logo for is a singer that has worked on the harbor in the beach area of Destin Florida for over 20 years. His name is Kelly Byrd.Destin is a beautiful vacation beach area in Northwest Florida that is heavily influenced by Alabama, Louisiana, Texas, Mississippi, Tennessee, and Georgia. The area is more country than urban. This area is more like Georgia/Alabama than it is South Florida. I guess you would call it “sophisticated country”.Google “Destin Florida” and then look at the images section for a natural feeling of the area.Kelly Byrd often plays at “The Boathouse” on the harbor. Please visit website for pictures of the bar/restaurant.http://www.boathouseoysterbar.com/We are looking for that laid back tropical feeling. Kelly Byrd typically plays more mellow/relaxing music near sunset. Sometimes he plays for beach weddings and parties.Our thoughts were to play off of his last name for his logo and his marketing.For reference, please see the included pictures below in this document. We were looking to take something like first picture (with that kind of vibe), and develop our own character that is similar looking to Kelly Byrd. We would want the bird to be…….. 1. Wearing a Hawaiian shirt2. Sunglasses3. A hat in the style that he typically wears. See pictures of him. Ascot hat?4. Playing a guitar left handed. Note: must be left handed5. Perched on a simple wooden bar stool.See the actual pictures of Kelly that we attached in our submission. Look at the pictures of him, and then……. imagine a cartoon character of a bird that looks a bit like him perched on a stool playing his guitar singing a beachy type tune at sunset.The concept is to make a word association with Byrd and Bird, so that people can more easily remember him, but to also create a character that he might be able to sell T-shirts, banner, CD’s, hats, and such with this caricature/logo on the merchandise.The character would have to be drawn pretty/fairly simple, so that it would be easily duplicated. Drawn like the old cartoons were drawn (Porky Pig, and Bugs Bunny), because they had to draw the same characters over, over, and over again for the cartoons to be animated. This should allow for easy application to hats, t-shirts, CD covers, etc…..
