Logo-Design Kurzbeschreibung

BACKGROUND:

We are a new 4 piece, Sydney rock covers band called Rockbiter. We will be playing gigs around local pubs, clubs and other venues throughout Sydney and surround areas. The genre focus is rock, with pop and dance tunes integrated.

Our long term goals are to be the preferred choice in entertainment selection for a variety of venues. To play 3-4 times per week throughout the year, with regular gigs at larger venues.

We want a logo to promote our brand, to show we operate as a professional business and not just a bunch of musicians blindly hoping to get work. We want to communicate that we are prepared, skilled, reliable, well researched and of high quality.

Our main points of difference are that we play different yet still popular songs, we do not present the same ‘pub rock’ set list as all other gigging cover bands. We are also lead by a Hawaiian guitarist who has a strong experience playing in Waikiki for an audience of over 100 five nights a week. The band takes requests throughout the night and does not have a set list of songs as other bands. This means that every night there is a different set of songs played to cater directly to the crowd.

We are also a professional business, we understand the importance of business processes and are keen relationship developers. We are managed by an experienced corporate partnership manager, who has a strong grasp of the music industry in Australia yet seeks to separate this business from the competition in their approach and delivery.

PROJECT DETAILS:

We would like some variations of the logo to be used on different media. We would like a text only, a text and image, and a black and white/greyscale, a stacked (squared, not too tall) and a horizontal version.

The imagery we have in mind is cartoonish interpretation of Rockbiter (think neverending story). However, we do not want the cartoon Rockbiter to look exactly like the Neverending story character. See attached images for examples.

There are no colour preferences, so we are happy for you to use your discretion.

Adjectives that best describe our logo are:
Grungy Funky
Simple Bold
Strong Dynamic

The feelings and message that we want to convey from our logo would be reliability, fun, strength, entertainment, and of course rock & roll.

We prefer the wording to be written Rockbiter however caps and other alternatives will be considered.

We would like the typography to look like custom lettering. We are open to it being influenced by rocks/boulders and the earth, music and rock n roll or even hand-written. Something unique with a grungy feel. We are open to suggestions on this.

The logo will be used for website, business cards, invoices and posters. The logo will primarily be used on the web.

The age range of the target customer would be between 20-55, however we would like to cater our brand more to the middle of that market (25-35).
