Web-Design Kurzbeschreibung

We need to improve the look & feel of an existing internal HTML page.
We use it as a portfolios where users go and see a list of existing reports as "tiles". The HTML page is automatically generated by a javascript that reads the contents to display from an HTML file.
What is needs is a "face lift" in the design of the page.
Currently we use icons on the top right of each tile to denote the type of technology used on the report and also colons for the same purpose. The attached screenshots will be self explanatory.
Across the top we have "tabs" that, once selected change the tiles.
Need a proposal for new design that keeps is as clean as possible, specially the home page that should be very light (Google like).
The idea for this page is to serve as a "one stop shop" and become a bookmark for everyone in the company.
