I've been drawing and designing comic book characters for decades so this project is a good fit for me and I'm excited to create something totally original and bad-ass for your logo! Here are my ideas...

Since you work mostly in the studio I was thinking of incorporating an electronic element into the PopMonster.

PopMonster: The Villain
-A combination of Doomsday (Superman villain) with a skull for a head and Robocop elements (some steel plated armor on his torso, shins, and forearms).
-A huge music studio mixing board attached to his back with cords leading into metal forearm blasters that shoot out electronic energy bursts (maybe incorporate musical notes).
-Could also just have the bad-ass mixing board embedded into his back as he fights with just his fists.
-Mostly black and yellow with red highlights for color scheme.

MixoMan: The Superhero
-'The Man in Black', Johnny Cash of course, as a Superhero with some western style gear incorporated. Maybe a cowboy hat, and a gun belt with holsters for microphones instead of pistols.
-Stringed guitar rocket launcher that shoots musical energy or fire (maybe incorporate musical notes)
-Could also just have the bad-ass stringed guitar slung over his back while he fights with just his fists.
-Mostly black and red with blue highlights for color scheme.

Text: 'PopMonster vs. MixoMan'
-3D text / blue letters with red shading and outlined in black.
-Could also be switched (red letters with blue highlights).

So, there you have it! Let me know what you like or dislike and what you want to change or add to the plans and I'll do some tweaking before I start the design. I think it'll be awesome! Cheers!

I was smiling reading your description because even to my standards this sound a little wild as I was more thinking of the plain Hulk Vs. Superman comic, just like the example I posted... But It sounds fun and I would like to see what is in your head, so you might want to give it a try!

Just one thought: please do not use a skull for the PopMonster, this would be so hardcore/metal after all. Perhaps you want to use something similar to my old logo, see the example, with the PopMonster being a dark, glowing thing from the Pop Swamp...

Your idea on the MixoMan is nice, too, but please make sure the character is not too corny, so I do not think holsters with mics would be overly cool and please: do not use any musical notes and symbols.
You see, I am quite well known over here so everybody seeing the logo already knows that I am a musician and there is no need to transport this message in the logo. When I think of musical notes the "funny tie" of a cheap wedding reception's piano player comes to my mind... :-D
If you use a guitar please make sure it's a Telecaster, though,

So if you could realize your idea and keep it on the "classy" side, I will be more than happy to consider your proposal!

lol! No worries:) I always go over the top with my initial designs so the clients can scale them down. I've always thought it easier to tone it back than to add double cheese. So, more on the classy but still rockin' side, (I'll refer to the Hulk Vs. Superman you posted), no skull (more dark, glowing PopMonster from the swamp you posted), no mic holsters, no musical notes (even I'll admit, I thought that was a little corny but I throw everything out there just in case), and the guitar should be a Telecaster. I will keep all this in mind when I'm designing and thanks for the clarification:) I'm excited to start!
