Logo-Design Kurzbeschreibung

The Beltway Blues are the Washington, DC supporters club for Chelsea Football Club. We were established in 2010 and have never really had a proper logo. We've grown to over 200 members and would love a cool logo that we can use for banners, t-shirts, our social media pages, etc. We occasionally make group treks over to London to watch matches in person, but mostly we meet at a pub to watch matches on TV. So it is important to us that our logo clearly convey that 1) we support Chelsea FC and 2) we are in Washington, DC (good examples of this would be the better logos from American Outlaws chapters that make clear that they are a USA national team supporters group but incorporate elements of the city that their chapter is in). In DC, that would be things like the DC flag, the capital building, the Washington monument, etc. It doesn't have to be the traditional shield shape that many football (soccer) clubs use (but it can be). It just needs to have a clear sports feel to it. Chelsea’s mascot is a lion and other club iconography includes celery.

From a color standpoint, Chelsea blue is a must. Red (except potentially in very small accents) is a no-go, as many of our rival clubs have red kits. If the logo is monochrome, it would be nice for it to be reversible (i.e. an all-blue version that we can print on white merchandise and an all-white version that we can print on blue merchandise).

I've attached a few logos from other supporters clubs (two for Chelsea and one for the US national team) that were the best examples I could find of striking a good balance between the city focus and team focus for their club.

Most of our members range in age from 24-44 years old. Some are ex-pats from England living in DC. Most are American.

• A lion (various versions of the official Chelsea FC logo over the years have incorporated a lion) and the DC flag (the colors from the flag don't have to be in the logo -- last year when we made Beltway Blues scarves we did a blue and white version of the DC flag instead of using red).
