Buchumschlag Design Kurzbeschreibung
This is a book cover for a new whodunit series set in the world of aviation in New Zealand. It needs to reflect that it is a light, romantic story, with some humour. New Zealand landscape is quite unique. You may need to google a few photos of airstrips in New Zealand to see the sort of countryside involved.
Book Blurb:
During a routine task to pick up a client , Claire finds herself at the murder scene of Jorge, a retiring novelist.
Claire is fiery, clever, daring —and she’s trying to prove herself in a man's world. As she and her new partner, Detective Sergeant Jack Body, delve into the mystery of Jorge's death, it becomes apparent that Claire knew very little at all about the man.
Clearly Jorge was not the gentle, unassuming man she had thought, and when his criminal history is exposed, she unwillingly finds her sympathies realigning with the murderer. The key to solving the case depends on unravelling a tangle of possible motives. With reasons as diverse as rifled grave goods, illegal smuggling of artefacts, disputed Maori history, breached tapu, and child abuse, it seems many people had good reason to murder the man who used to be her passenger.
The first novel in a new mystery series featuring Claire Hardcastle, commercial pilot and flying instructor, who operates out of Paraparaumu airport in New Zealand. Sure to delight the fans of Penelope Haines’ earlier novels “The Lost One” and “Helen Had A Sister,” this exciting new series, set in the world of small aircraft aviation, features a strong protagonist, solid mystery and off-beat humour.
Zielmarkt/( -märkte)
This is the start of a whodunit series featuring a young woman pilot who flies small aircraft into rural airstrips in New Zealand. The intent of the series is to entertain, and I assume that the majority of readers will be middle aged and female

Muss haben
- The common theme in this series is that the young woman is a pilot of light aircraft (please see the file of photos I have attached. No pictures of large jet aircraft please)
- I think the appearance of a young woman on the cover is essential. Maybe a small aircraft. It is important that this be seen as part of a series, so there should be a plan for future covers based on a similar graphic theme. I am open to suggestions. The series is set in New Zealand
Schön zu haben
- My two previous novels have both used a Designcrowd artist to design the covers. Although this is a new series, it would be nice if there were some branding links to these two stand alone books so as to make it easy for a reader to discover them on the bookstore shelf.
Sollte nicht haben
- The aircraft involved are small. Please no jet planes or large aircraft. While the heroine is young and attractive, she is also competent at her job, brave and daring. Please no overtly sexual or underdressed women.
