Logo-Design Kurzbeschreibung

**Who we are:
A MIT lab, called the Strategic Engineering Research Group (SERG)
What we do: we focus on designing, architecting, modeling and analyzing complex systems, in space and on Earth (for more information, please see strategic.mit.edu)
What we want: a logo that ideally captures all of the things below:
- the complexity of the systems we are analyzing
- the time element, because we are looking at these systems over their entire lifetime (represented maybe as axes or a timeline, not as a clock or watch image)
- the Earth and space connection (visual references to Earth and space).

We will be using this logo on official letters from our research group, slides with graphs and technical diagrams, website, academic posters, t-shirts, mugs and similar.
So it is important that this is a simple, powerful logo with a story behind it that is representative of what we do.

**Other considerations
- We need the logo to be compatible with the MIT color scheme (for more details please see http://web.mit.edu/graphicidentity/downloads-logo.html)
- The logo should not be crowded in its design: its message should be clear if it is reduced to 2 cm x 2 cm (so as to fit on a presentation slide)
- Black and white compatibility
- No neon colors

**Logo text
The logo should be an image able to stand alone, with no text included in the image. The text should be placed near the image, in same font as Massachusetts Institute of Technology (http://web.mit.edu/graphicidentity/download-logos.html#logo-with-name)
The text should be “MIT Strategic Engineering”
We are also open to logos that are text based (like the NASA logo for example). In this case, the text in the logo should be SERG.
