We are a start-up consulting company which will provide professional services to the global mining industry.
As the owners of the company we have a special affinity for West Africa, in particular Ghana, from time spent there through our involvement in the mining industry. Therefore, it seems fitting for us to use an Adinkra Symbol (Adinkra Symbols are cultural symbols of the Asante people of Ghana) as the creative design basis for our company logo. We have chosen four Adinkra Symbols whose meanings are very similar to our core values we are conveying to our staff and clients.
1. The Nkyinkyim Symbol which represents initiative, toughness, adaptability, resoluteness, dynamism, versatility
2. The Nssa Symbol which represents excellence, authenticity and genuineness
3. The Pempamsie Symbol which represents readiness, steadfastness, strength and unity
4. The Boa me na me boa wo Symbol which represents cooperation and interdependence
Note, the original symbol designs are provided in the attachments.
Therefore, we know what we want for our logo, we just need someone to turn ‘one ‘of these four Adinkra symbols into a standout logo that will not only define our brand and what we represent, but also a logo that can be used on our website, business cards, social media, emails etc etc. We are happy to see variations on the symbols, so please be creative in your interpretation, however, please be careful and do not stray too far from the original symbol design.
We are looking for the logo to have our name “Censio” included, our preference is the typeface “Gotham Book”. However, we welcome variations using a similar typeface and would also like to see variations of all caps, all lowercase and thickness of the font.
The colours we would like to see used are the African yellows, greens, blues and orange, please try to keep the combination of colours to a maximum of two or three. While the colours of the final logo are important our main priority at this stage is to get the logo right! Therefore, the logo must photocopy well in both black and white or grayscale.
Thanks for looking at our project.

Project Deadline Extended Reason: Still looking for a simple, but unique logo to help with developing our brand. Added Monday, January 4, 2016
Project Deadline Extended Reason: We have changed our project brief, as after looking through all the designs that have been submitted (by the way thank you to all designers that have submitted a logo so far) we realised that we were after a logo that resonated and represented our brand and our values. We have updated the project brief which details exactly what we are after, and we look forward to seeing designs around the use of the Adinkra Symbols which we feel represents our values for our staff and clients.
