We are launching an accounting firm with a slightly different focus. We're calling it 'PANIC ATAX' because of the focus of our marketing and service delivery. Client's always comment that dealing with accountants and the Australian Tax Office 'drives them crazy'. Our focus is on trying to restore their sanity by changing the approach to their work and showing them how easy it really can be to keep their accounting information in great shape. We do this by implementing smart software systems, approaching complex tax situations in a simple, easy to understand manner and giving back-to-basics business / budgeting advice that anyone can understand and implement. With a secondary benefit of making the accounting cycle less time consuming in the hope they have additional time to be with family and enjoy life. As you can probably tell from the name of the firm we're looking to shift the branding and marketing away from the usual boring accounting firm look (XYZ Partners or ABC & Associates). We are looking for a logo that is interesting, clever and a little bit of fun.
Notes on the final design:
1. The design should be flat. Gradients and dimensions are not necessarily easy to apply in all printing situations;
2. Hidden design elements that are not necessarily easy to spot at first would be great. For example the arrow in the FedEx logo;
3. The final logo should look professional but also have a touch of humour;
4. The message we're trying to send with the logo is one of professionalism and relaxation with ones financial and business affairs...but also a bit of fun ;)
5. It would be great if the logo would work in all white and all black in additional to the chosen business colours.
6. The logo should work both with and without the company slogan 'Less Stress, More Success'. Would be great to see the design in both formats.
7. Colour selection - most accounting firms use blue but we're thinking a combination of yellow/gold and purple/magenta. However, happy to discuss this with professional designers if the general consensus is that those colours do not match our message.
8. We believe it's really important that the word TAX stand out. Nothing else in the business name or slogan says that we are an accounting firm.
9. Happy to explore both upper and lower case fonts. What ever the designers thing looks good and we can refine it from there.

- - some sort of pictorial may be a nice addition but more than happy with just text if it gets the right feel. No Pictorial is better than a bad/tacky one.
