Logo-Design Kurzbeschreibung

We need a new logo for Technology Valley Inc., which is a membership-based organisation promoting the Hutt Valley, New Zealand, as a base for STEMM excellence - Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics & Manufacturing.

Note: if you Google us you will find the existing logo. We are not very happy with this logo as it seems "basic", not very well "designed" in terms of its aesthetic appeal and generally does not convey the full breadth of what we are about. We are really looking some new ideas and a bold brand which fits with the brief below.

Members of Technology Valley Inc. comprise manufacturing businesses, universities, polytechnics, local councils, and research institutes.

Technology Valley is about driving economic growth and creating a vibrant, smart commercial sector based on innovative science, engineering and technology. A sector that employs a wide range of people, pays good salaries, attracts innovative people and grows the GDP for our region.

Technology Valley needs to be something that the community can engage with and as a brand something that inspires a wide range of community groups and bodies to engage with and contribute towards. It needs to bring a sense of community and collaboration, that all sorts of people and bodies can contribute towards.

Vision:
A public/private partnership which will transform the Hutt Valley, New Zealand, into one of New Zealand’s leading export and economic growth centres based on STEMM.

This vision relates the Hutt Valley in terms of it being recognized as this centre within the Wellington region and well as throughout NZ. The vision is to be achieved through the following five objectives:

1, Researching, understanding and building our opportunities.

2. Creating and stimulating the links between business and research, technology and engineering , and the commercialisation of business opportunities.

3. Improving the infrastructure, environment and digital connectivity.

4. Creating and building awareness, pride and engagement.

5. Inspiring young people to see their own futures as part of Technology Valley.

Opportunities:
- To be NZ’s primary centre for Science engineering and technology led economic growth
- Sister city linkages
- Role in commercialisation of the technologies
- Community led initiative and to bring people together under the vision – a sense of community unity and contribution
- Opportunity to demonstrate the value of the business community across the whole valley to work together.
- The opportunity for Technology Valley is local, national and global

The group’s terms of reference are:
1. To be the central point for collecting and disseminating information relating to Technology Valley e.g. project support, events, lobbying politicians.

2. To stimulate activity that will help achieve the project objectives. E.g. events, awards, networking.

3. To source funding to undertaken the identified workstreams. E.g. seek funding and offer support to individual projects championed by the group and other groups.

4. To identify and involve other parties who may be able to advance the project e.g. government agencies, business owners, multinationals, investors etc.
