Logo-Design Kurzbeschreibung

We need a logo design for a new software. The software itself is a toolbox for assessing financial risk of portfolios and calculating state-of-the art risk measures and high quality reports. The software is very light-weight, easily customizable, very fast and will be published under the GNU GPL - so it is free to use for everybody: both individuals as well as professional market participants like (Hedge) Funds, Banks, Insurance companies.

The logo should have a professional, modern, elegant touch and will be used on the software website (www.octarisk.com), on documentation and in the software itself (see appended a early version of the documentation (file1)).
The software is mainly written in Octave language (a Matlab clone).

Zielmarkt/( -märkte)

There are three main markets for the software:
1. as an educational toolbox for business administration and Quant students
2. as a light-weight validation and sandbox tool for all professional entities (funds, banks, insurance companies), which already use (commercial) products
3. as a standalone solution for assessing financial risk for individuals and banks, insurance companies etc.

Typically, potential users are conservative males of age 30-50.

Anforderungen

Muss haben

• It would be nice if the logo contains some hints to the financial risk measurement, statistics and risk - something like histrograms or profit and loss distribution functions (see image on cover of documentation).

Schön zu haben

• The logo should be easily recognizable if it is small size (e.g. in the browser tab) - so not too many details.

Sollte nicht haben

• The logo should distinguish itself from competitors (e.g. http://www.numerix.com/, http://www.opengamma.com/. https://www.sungard.com/)
