Now that I am starting to see some designs I can further describe what we are looking for in our logo.
1. Although we want our mascot in the logo we were thinking it would play a small part and not be the focus of the logo.
2. Because this will go onto our yogurt/ice cream cups we would like it to be wider than it is tall.
3. Would like the image to be more playful as apposed to formal. See attached example of kitten eating ice cream.
4. We were thinking of having the image of our mascot or our mascot's face drawn as apposed to actually having a picture of the mascot in the logo.

A couple more comments. I would say that the most important thing on the logo is that it has to convey the idea of historical circus. When I say historical I am thinking that some of the fonts might look faded or something like that.

Some new ideas that we have are as follows:
1. Maybe our Mascot Swirl could be jumping through a circus hoop. Maybe the hoop could be the O in top or the dot on the I in Swirl.
2. Could the I in swirl be an ice cream cone and Swirl could be standing on the R poring some toppings onto the cone.
