Thank you for all your submission so far, although we have received some good ideas, we are still not fully content with any of them and require some further innovation and ideas to help us develop and select our final design.

Please can you consider the following additional guidance with your next submission:

1. We have have received lots of designs where a heart is the central focus of the logo (e.g with two location pins overlapping to make a heart shape). As mentioned in the original brief, we are trying to distance ourselves from the rest of the market; therefore, large heart logos and stereotypical pinks and blues will not meet our requirement.

2. To assist with generating some new ideas, also consider the following: the website will allow users to choose from multiple dating ideas that are presented to them. These date ideas will have different locations, activities, themes, etc. As a result, a logo purely focusing on locations will also not meet our requirement.

3. One area we would like to pay particular attention to is the font used. We are huge fans of typography and the right font is very important to us. Since our target audience will be young professionals, comic type fonts will not match and we would like to see more variation (not just Ariel).

The Date Market or thedatemarket.com is a London based start-up, operating in the business of online dating. We are seeking a new and innovative logo that will be central to the branding of our company.

The Date Market provides a completely new concept to that used by existing dating websites. The focus of the website is less upon profile browsing/matching and more upon the locations that you meet people.

Prior to our launch, we are unable to fully divulge the business concept for the website, but we can provide some key requirements to help guide the design work.

The target audience for the business is primarily young professionals, although it should also look to appeal to students and middle-aged customers who have a reasonable level of disposable income.

We aim to separate ourselves from the rest of the market by providing a new, innovative and exciting way to meet people online. We want to distance ourselves from the tacky, cliche and seedy experiences than many users face on existing dating websites.

The website will be expertly designed with a highly modern and easy to use interface, therefore, it is important that this image is reflected within the logo. We want our logo to be the type of logo that people would "Pin" or include in logo galleries.

The logo should attempt to depict both of the words “date” and “market”, although this does not necessarily need to be “in your face”. In addition, the logo should try to depict the following ethics and objectives of the business:
- Modern
- Clever / Innovative
- Unique
- Creative
- Professional
- Unisex and suitable for all sexual preferences
- Easy to use
- Honest / Transparent
- Fun
- Sociable

The logo must be visible and suitable for display/printing in large and small formats, e.g A1 posters and iPhone/Android app icons.
