Logo-Design Kurzbeschreibung

We need a logo design for the Academic Financial Trading Platform (AFTP). AFTP is an internet-based consortium whose goal is to empower the global population to invest efficiently in financial markets by learning to apply a variety of quantitative academic models. These models have good predictive performance for different classes of financial assets comparable to large existing investing houses in the US. With the advent of online trading platforms, an increasing number of individual investors participate in the stock market. However, most individuals lack awareness about the existence of academic models. Also, personalized decision-making based on these models cannot be achieved without the application of optimal quantitative tools.

AFTP makes these models and tools available to the general public through a web platform that allows the user to a) learn about extensive academic research that shows financial markets have a predictable component and identify models and asset classes that suit their investment preferences and objectives; b) translate investment objectives into quantitative model parameters; c) use this information to make predictions based on the underlying models; d) update the amounts invested in each of several assets according to the predictions of these models; e) track the performance of his portfolio in real time; f) build his financial social network whereby he can gain insights from other users as well as mirror their trading strategies in real time. All of the above features are novel additions to internet-based resources available to the average user.

The logo will appear in several places on the site, most notably in the top left corner above the left sidebar. It will also appear in html emails. The current version of the site uses bluish color themes, but we are open to others as well. We are looking for a logo that captures the idea of placing decision-making tools in the hands of the average internet user.
