Buchumschlag Design Kurzbeschreibung
I need a book cover designed for a book called, “The Pollen Scholarship: How To Turn Your Medical Condition Into Free Money For College.” This book is aimed at students with a variety of medical conditions. I wrote The Pollen Scholarship after I received a medical-based scholarship ($96,000) to attend college and law school based on my allergies to pollen—hence the title. However, this government program applies to just about any medical condition—not just allergies. I have assisted students in applying for this program who suffer from many different medical conditions. So I would like the cover design to convey that message—that this program applies to many different medical conditions. One of the big misconceptions about medical-based scholarships is you will only qualify if you have a really serious medical condition. So I would like to see some cover designs that list some common medical conditions in order to convey to the reader that many different medical conditions qualify. A few possible medical conditions are allergies, asthma, ADHD, depression, anxiety, back pain, eating disorders, bipolar, sleep disorders, and OCD. Possible ways to convey this may be to have the names of some of these common medical conditions written on graduation caps or randomly dispersed in the background, etc. However, this isn’t the only theme I would like to see. In essence, I give you creative liberty to wow me with your design prowess. The point of crowd design is to get variety of designs to choose from that I may not have thought of on my own. I have dabbled with some ideas that blend the themes of the education world and the medical world and I think this is the essence of the book. What ever you come up with, it needs to make it clear at a glance that this book helps you pay for college on the basis of your medical condition—whatever medical condition that may be. To see a simple mock up I did (that I don't want to use) go to medicalbasedscholarships.com
The book is 153 pages on 5x8 paper. I am planning to print the book through CreateSpace, so the cover should adhere to the CreateSpace design requirements. I can provide the CreateSpace template if needed.
Updates: Please be able to provide a few updates to the cover design if your design is selected. After choosing the final design, physical proofs of the book will be ordered so I can see what your design looks like in real life. After the proofs are reviewed, I may need some minor changes (i.e., maybe the back cover text needs a new font size, etc..) Also, after I use the proofs to solicit endorsements, I am planning to purchase my own ISBN number and barcode. I would like the designer to be able to update my cover to include a new ISBN and barcode after the initial proofs are printed which should be 3-4 weeks later. So please be able to provide a few updates to the cover design if your design is selected.

Anforderungen
Muss haben
- My project must have a general education/medical theme
Schön zu haben
- I'd like to see some designs that include random medical conditions dispersed on the cover. Maybe a different medical condition written on several different graduation caps, or some other context.
Sollte nicht haben
- The cover design should not depict persons with severe medical conditions--i.e., people in wheelchairs, hospital beds, etc.
