Illustration-Design Kurzbeschreibung

Hi out there.

I need some one to illustrate an adaptation of the "How Thor got his hammer" myth. (Text below). This is a book for 2-4 years olds. I was hoping to give this to them as a Christmas present. I was going to to print this using Blurb.com.

In addition to the cash, I'd give you a hard copy of the book and you have joint rights to do whatever you wanted with the book going forward.

My thoughts are that each bullet point would be a page, although I'm open to considering other configurations.

My draft text is below:

• Loki woke up grumpy and decided to cause some trouble.
• Loki snuck into Thor’s house and cut off Thor’s wife Sif’s beautiful golden hair.
• Sif shrieked when she saw her hair had been cut off. Thor knew that only Loki would play such a mean trick.
• Thor went to Loki’s castle. Loki was caught. He pleaded “Please forgive me, I’ll go to the Dwarfs and ask them to make new hair for Sif, and two other magical presents for you”. Thor agreed and let Loki go.
• Loki travelled to see the Dwarfs. The Dwarfs owed Loki a favour so they made him a fine head of Golden hair for Sif, a magic spear, and a magic boat that could fold and fit in your pocket.
• Loki was so happy with his treasure that he bet the dwarfs they could not make three more treasures as nice. If they did they could have his head.

• The dwarfs accepted the challenge. Loki used magic to turn into a fly and bit the dwarfs’ necks while they were working on the first treasure. They didn’t let it bother them and they made a real boar with gold bristles.
• When they started to make the second treasure Loki used magic to turn into a fly again and bit the dwarfs’ ears twice as hard. They didn’t stop working and they made a magic ring that would make eight new rings every eight nights.
• When they started the third treasure Loki was worried he was going to lose the bet, so he used magic one last time and turned into a fly. He flew over and bit the dwarfs on the eyes. This time they stopped working to swat at the fly. The dwarfs worried they damaged the magical hammer they were making.

• Loki and the dwarfs took the presents to Thor so he could judge if the second batch of treasures were as nice as the first ones.
• Thor decided that all the treasures were very nice and Loki lost his bet. When the dwarfs went to cut off Loki’s head, Loki said, “You can have my head as part of our bet, but you aren’t allowed to damage my neck”.
• Since the dwarfs weren’t able to cut off his head without damaging his neck they chose to sew Loki’s mouth shut.

• Thor shared his magical treasures with his wife Sif, and friends Odin and Frey. Loki didn’t cause any more trouble for a while.
