Thank you everyone for your input. Please excuse that i'm short on time for my comments as I am traveling. In general I want to stay away from black and black backgrounds. 3d is great. I'd like to try and have more tech. chip lines in the outline of the house - although i'm not closed on that, i'm looking at the overall picture.

If someone can succeed in giving the impression of surrounding detached houses - great - but it can't be on the account of simplicity.

I am enjoying the creativity and
appreciate the efforts. Please review the attached
files carefully - especially logo collections a, b, and c - in that order.

The top of each file walks through the steps of what I'm looking for and
gives samples of logos to understand the concept. In the last of them -
logo collection c - on the bottom of page 2, there was a logo for smarthouse
that is hiding at the bottom and can be pulled up.

I am looking to create a picture of what I've coined a "tech"
house (as in samples in logo collection a) and contrast it with surrounding
homes (where the multiple home look samples are in logo collection b). I'm
not closed on this idea, but I would at least like to see a few logos that
push the whole idea through. Please keep the good work coming - I will try
to post when I can, but it may take me another 24 -36 hours until I have
better internet access.

(1) There have been some excellent ideas. I appreciate the creative efforts and enthusiasm – please keep up the good work and the good ideas coming.

(2) I would like to ask that people look at all the material I have attached to the brief (most importantly the word files "logo collection a,b, and c" to be read in that order. There are clear directions and samples for the idea I have in mind. I have not seen too many that fully expressed the full concept I am trying to portray. That is;

A HOUSE USED FOR TECHNOLOGY IN CONTRAST (AND DISCONNECTED TO) TO SURROUNDING HOMES – AS WELL AS CENTRALLY LOCATED TO THE OTHER HOMES.

I would like to see more ideas central to the concept I explained before I further comment.

Hello and a big thank you to all designers! I've been seeing some excellent work and am getting closer to the final choosing stage. There's really been an extraordinary amount of creativity so I appreciate everyone's continuous efforts - keep it up!!
To be honest, the only reason I haven't chosen a logo yet because I still don't feel that emotional grabbing power of I love it. A logo is something you don't want to change so I want to know that i'm ready to keep it - as I said - I feel I'm getting much closer to the "grabbing" stage. I don't want to give too much direction cuz some of the best designs are the ones that are a bit different from my instructions.
I am making comments to my top pick designs and I do appreciate all communication so that we can clarify things as best as possible.
One point I do want to mention - I noticed i'm pulled more to the designs with an overall softer, warmer and more inviting feel - more rounded and flowing. Things like flowers that remind me of growth and aliveness also add a positive feel that grabs me.
and again the challenge is always to do this within the feeling of SIMPLICITY.
I know I won't have it all, but i'm certain someone will create the design that I love - good luck to all of you and keep those creative juices flowing. looking forward to checking out more designs tomorrow!!!

What type of bussiness is Magnet? Is it like a computer shop for woman who are conservative?

I also notice that you are close to choosing your logo.
I might not going to meet the deadline as I receive your invitation 1 day before the project ends.

I will answer out of order in order to best answer your questions. - you have some good questions.
magnet is a workspace with internet access designed for religious women. Our idea is to have a few locations centrally located within neighborhoods (rather than business districts) to allow for easy access and convenience for very busy women (many of them have large families and juggle work with many other responsibilities) Some of these women don't have internet access at home because they don't want the influences from the street entering their home; some are newly married and work internationally - they don't want to work from their home all day, some don't actually have jobs but because they don't have access they come for their internet shopping, family communication and the like, and some are students). Almost all these women grew up going to private schools with girls only and being women only in a quiet environment provides a very comfortable workspace.
competition include stores like internet cafes, workspaces, neighbors with internet access etc.
in terms of it being close to the deadline, my understanding is that after the contest closes I am left with time to work with designers and view changes on the designs submitted. good luck. (the advantage of coming in in the end is that I have learned the designs that are working and can direct more accurately)

Hello Designers - thank you all for your continued hard work. I have updated my brief with the 5 elements that I am looking for in my winning design. Things are a lot clearer now that we are approaching the finish line -
Many of you have come up with very nice versions of "technology houses" and just need to modify a bit to meet the color requirements etc. I hope you will all stick through it to the end. i'm trying to grade 3s and 4s to those whose designs I would consider with modification.
