Logo-Design Kurzbeschreibung

We need a logo design for a project-management company based in Malta, but with international aspirations. The company name is "Onirica Consulting" -- "Onirica" being an Italian/Spanish/Greek word for "dream."

We've done some of our own early designs using octopuses and would like that as one of the themes (since Malta is an island); please note that in the attached "example" I've used Onirica Explorations, but the current company is Onirica Consulting. In the rough draft drawing, the idea was that more 'hands on the wheel' means more control; the same idea could be accomplished in other ways...and/or by the use of different tools in each tentacle, for example. Or something I haven't even thought of yet, maybe using the octopus's ink cloud in some way.

Blue and/or purple as key colors would be preferable. Overall, the company's primary role is as a mentor for other companies needing advanced project management skills and instruction.

My personal design tastes trend toward simple, classic, and uncomplicated. I would rather not have a logo that will look dated in 5 years or will need a redesign because it's too trendy. Generally, if it needs a lot of explanation, don't bother -- I didn't see the "negative space arrow" in the FedEx logo until it was pointed out to me. Clever, but if it needs to be explained you've already missed the mark.

• I'd like to be able to print this with two colors -- black and one other color. Shades of those two are fine, but I like offset printing and would like that this can be set up as a two-color job.

Sollte nicht haben

• I'm tired of seeing stars, arrows, circles and other generic symbol crap included in logos for no reason. Start with an octopus, and show me how that can connect with project management, control, mentoring. Keep it simple.
