Logo design for the Green Link

Company and project description
Volterra aims to restore ecosystems through innovative agro and forestry techniques in Spain. We have the experience to restore degraded areas into healthy soils through the implementation of specific projects where trials of reforestation and soil improvement are approached in an integral way.

Recently, we launched in cooperation with other innovative and environmentally friendly companies a new EU project; LIFE The Green Link. In the Mediterranean area, the impacts of climate change are becoming increasingly perceptible and severe. The main purpose is to restore desertified areas with an innovative tree growing method across the Mediterranean border to increase resilience. The Green Link aims to address these issues through the implementation of the new Cocoon technology. The Cocoon, made out of recycled carton, is a water box that replaces irritation. It is a low-cost, sustainable and scalable solution to plant trees in arid soils.

The project intends to demonstrate that the Mediterranean can combat climate change with an effective tool through 6 trials in 3 different countries (Spain, Italy and Greece) suffering from desertification.

The values that the logo should communicate
For this project we need a logo. The logo will be used for: the website, PowerPoints, brochures and letterheads. The target audiences of the project are researchers, universities, NGOs, SMEs, governments and local communities. Therefore, it should be a powerful and professional logo, which shows us at a glance that the project is:
- Innovative
- Environmentally friendly
- The green link in the Mediterranean area
- Using the Cocoon technology
- Combating desertification and climate change
- Planting trees on degraded soils

We added 2 random examples in the annex, just to give you a some insight of our first thoughts. As you can see, the examples are colorful, green, clear and simple. Unfortunately we do not have the talent to create professional logos and that is why we organize this competition. We are looking forward to see your creations within 2/3 days.
