Tuff City Charters is a boat charter company unlike any other on the west coast. Yes, we offer salmon & halibut fishing, diving and whale watching but that is only part of the experience. Tuff City Charters specializes in full day or half day cooking adventure charters or what we like to call a “culinary cruise”. Guests can sample the bounty from the ocean and every charter ends in a beach fire pit and open fire smorgasbord. We are first and foremost a cruise & cooking company. A wood-fire cookery that happens to know how to catch salmon and clean a crab. We are the west coasts only cooking adventure company.

Tuff City Charters offers guests a chance to catch and eat their own salmon, halibut, crab, geoduck, clams, oysters and more… We are the only charter company on the west coast that will clean and cook your catch for you the same day at a remote beach in the epic wilderness. Catch it, clean it and cook it. We only use hardwoods like oak, maple, birch and hickory. Its boated into the sites and left in huge covered piles.

The Pacific Ocean around Tofino offers an abundance of cuisine from exotic sea cucumber to the worlds best salmon. A typical day charter with us will see guests catching and eating their own salmon, prawns, crab and perhaps even sampling some sushi straight from the ocean. On every one of our charters you will find a knowledgeable transport Canada certified skipper and you will also find a grill master (asador) and certified diver.

Our Seafood Charters are unique in the sense that every guest onboard is guaranteed a sampling of some of the freshest seafood available anywhere in the world. We put as much emphasis on the culinary side of the experience as we do on the fishing. We are so much more than just a fishing trip.

The wood fire grilling or open pit fire cooking will be Argentine style or “parrilla” cooking over open flames using simple ingredients. Everything is cooked by fire to perfection – simple yet inspiring. Often the list of ingredients is short consisting of olive oil, herbs, vinegar and lemon juice. All of our dishes are rustic and inspired by fire.
