Union Wireless Billboard Solicitation

Union Wireless is seeking a creative and talented freelance Graphic Designer to design outdoor campaign concepts for our new “Out Here” branding campaign. Be innovative, be original and submit your best work.

About the Company: Over the course of more than 100 years, Union Telephone Company (dba – Union Wireless) has evolved from a small town local landline provider using homemade equipment, to a state of the art wireless carrier with international roaming partners. Today, Union Wireless has more towers throughout Wyoming than any other wireless provider and continues to enhance its network monthly.

Union’s Advertising: Part of Union’s success can be attributed to the pride it takes in serving the local communities with personalized service (Treating You Like a Neighbor, Not a Number) and by providing coverage in remote areas, typically not served by national carriers (For Where You Live, Work and Play). In conjunction with seasonal promotional campaigns, Union Wireless is currently introducing a branding campaign titled “Out Here”. Out Here Campaign: The “Out Here” campaign is designed to highlight the unique lifestyle and values that are shared by people in Wyoming, as well as Union’s commitment to keeping them connected to the rest of the world. TV and Radio ads have been created and will continue to be developed to enforce this branding effort. The first TV ad created was called Out Here Is Home. We are looking for Outdoor Billboard advertising concepts to be created that will tie in with this motif. This is where you come in.

Instructions: Please develop a Billboard concept that represents and aligns with Union’s theme for this campaign. “Out Here Is Home” and “Phones That Work Out Here” could potentially be used as catchphrases for your concept(s). Try to keep it to 7 words or less. The formal slogans that the company uses in advertising and can be incorporated into your concept(s) if desired. The dimensions for billboards will vary by location and sign company, but for this exercise the dimensions should be: 14 feet height x 48 feet wide.

The above will provide you with a better idea of the direction that the company is pursuing with this campaign. Future campaigns will include: the Fun activities that are available Out Here, the Sense of Community that exists Out Here, and the Personalized Customer Service that you would expect from a company based Out Here.

Additional Details: The chosen design will need to be submitted with un-flattened art and images, fonts, and any other files as requested to Union Wireless for further modification and sizing by the internal Graphic Design team. Union Wireless will supply a zip file containing company logo variations via a file upload/download service to all candidates.
