Logo-Design Kurzbeschreibung

We need a logo for a new business launched in the DC Metro area. Our business name is Sova Solutions (sova is Czech for "owl") - a name we chose to emphasize our commitment to practical wisdom and strategy. We focus mostly on higher education with our main goal being to help students (first-generation, lower-income, unconfident learners with complicated lives) succeed and make better lives for them and their families. Through true, shoulder-to-shoulder partnership with our clients, we help good ideas live long enough to become sustainable solutions to vexing shared problems. We help our clients take advantage of the untapped insights of the humans they depend on to make real, lasting change, and we help change agents of various stripes avoid pitfalls and derailers as they move from strategy to action, from solution to implementation, and from pilot to scaled intervention. Our mission is to unleash the power of true collaboration and practical wisdom in the pursuit of complex problem solving.

Muss haben

• The logo must communicate our emphasis on practical wisdom. This is why we chose "sova," meaning owl - a symbol for wisdom and strategy. The logo must also "feel" organic, not overly mechanical, robotic, technical, etc. The color palette must have a "warm" feel to it, so not steely, chrome, etc. I know this is a difficult request, but despite all I say here about what I want to see in the logo, it still needs to maintain a high level of simplicity.

Schön zu haben

• It would be nice to have the owl incorporated in some way. I've been thinking about the tag-line "take flight." If this idea or phrase can somehow be incorporated, it would be nice. Also, I'm thinking of a way to integrate a tree, roots, or sprouts to further emphasize our theme and values of being "rooted in practical wisdom."

Sollte nicht haben

• The logo should not feel overly ridged like an accounting firm or some other highly technical organization. The incorporated owl should not look menacing. We don't want to communicate harshness or fear through our logo.
