Logo-Design Kurzbeschreibung

I am starting a singing studio in Sydney Australia called Vocal Hub. I will be teaching vocal training to mainly school-age students, both girls and boys so I want the design to appeal to both.
The studio is going have a fun, relaxed atmosphere and I would like the logo to depict this.
The colours that I would like to use are lime green and a very dark charcoal. I have experimented using white and bright orange with the green and charcoal and they looked great too.
I have uploaded a very bad attempt by myself at designing a logo. I wanted to provide this though so you can see what I initially had in mind. There are white arrows in this picture which would have been microphones if I could work out how to do that! It does not need to replicate this photo, I am open to every other idea that you have.

• I would ideally like to have a microphone included somewhere in the design.
  
  In regards to the logo text, I am more inclined towards more retro fonts rather than corporate/business style fonts.
