Logo-Design Kurzbeschreibung

I need a logo created for my investment group. My investment group is called Airmen Investments LLC, aptly named so after the Tuskegee airmen. The working logo we've been using to date is that of a fighter pilots pennant (attached). I've also attached picture of the type of plane flown by the Tuskegee airmen during WWII. There were regiment was known as The Red Tails.The red markings that distinguished the Tuskegee Airmen included red bands on the noses of P-51s as well as a red rudder, the P-51B and D Mustangs flew with similar color schemes, with red propeller spinners, yellow wing bands and all-red tail surfaces. I need a logo that's clean and also carries the feel of financial / investment firm. I'm not sure, however, on what the best color scheme should be. The draft logo is red, but after seeing it in our power point decks I'm now thinking maybe crimson might be ideal.

A quick Google search will reveal a lot about the history behind the Tuskegee airmen. Our member's connection to that heritage is due to the fact that most of the members in the group all graduated from Tuskegee University, a historical black college and university established in 1881. It was also the site of the Tuskegee airmen's airplane hanger and training facility during WWII, away from white fighter pilots due to Jim Crow laws at the time. The impetus for the founding of the group is predicated on the mitigating the disparity of African-American wealth in the US as compare to compare to household wealth among other racial groups. We are not a public facing entity and our activities are purely for the financial gain of the members involved.
