Logo-Design Kurzbeschreibung

I am looking for a logo for my lab, our main research focus is on using mathematical models to describe fish populations - we work on conservation and management of commercially and recreationally harvested species. I am Interested in something that combines the accuracy of scientific illustration (which I think has a great asthetic) with a simpler stylized "artistic" design that pops. The image has to be anatomically correct - we are biologists so I would not want to deviate into the fanciful (I have included images of "fish we work on" and would like the logo to be based on one or more of those fish). Also, I am looking for something a bit masculine - something we could eventually put on hats and t-shirts for our (mostly male) industry, university, and angling parterns and stakeholders.

A main criteria is the fish be close to anatomically correct even if the image is given an artistic spin.

The final design should feel modern and masculine.
