We need a logo designed for our spinathon fundraising event that is raising money to support our programs that are helping reduce violence in Chicago. For those not familiar with spinathons, this is an event where a large group of people ride stationary bikes to raise money for a charity. Below is a little more information about our organization and the event:
Ideas of What We are Looking For:
We would like to see designs that utilize the WSC brand color pallet (I have attached a copy of our brand guidelines that includes our color pallet). If possible we would like to incorporate the image that is a part of our logo in this event logo. We want a logo that tells the story of the event and the impact to catch people's eye and excite them about the event.
About Our Organization:
World Sport Chicago (WSC) is a 501c(3) non-profit organization that acts on the belief that sport has the power to strengthen individuals, and in turn, Chicago’s communities. World Sport Chicago promotes programs and events as well as collaborates with several community partners, public agencies and Chicago’s professional sports teams to deliver impact and change.
About the Event:
Every day there are stories about the devastating impact violence is having on our community and on the lives of youth across Chicago. Something needs to be done to break the cycle of violence, yet many people feel helpless – not knowing what they can do to make a difference. World Sport Chicago is honored to be teaming up with the Chicago Bulls to give people a way they can be a part of the solution.
The expansion of Becoming a Man - Sports Edition (BAM-Sports) and other programs that provide safe spaces and positive role models for youth are an important component of the City’s work to address the pressing issue of violence. Delivered in partnership with the school-based social service agency Youth Guidance, BAM-Sports combines afterschool sports with a social/emotional small group and individual counseling curriculum to make a difference in the lives of young men. A research study by the University of Chicago–Crime Lab has proven the effectiveness of BAM-Sports – finding that participation in BAM-Sports caused a 44% lower incidence of violent crime arrests and sustained improvements in school performance and engagement.
Spinning to Break the Cycle is a indoor cycling fundraising event that will challenge individuals, corporations and the greater community to see how far they can go to break the cycle of violence in Chicago. Participants will have the opportunity to join together as teams to spin (ride a stationary bike) for 12 continuous hours and raise the funds needed to expand BAM-Sports and increase the capacity of additional community-based programs that leverage sport to teach positive life values and keep youth safe. Teamwork, competition and dedication will bring the whole community together - creating a unified team that is inspired and activated to help break the cycle of violence in Chicago.

The event will target both individuals and corporations so the logo should speak to both audiences. The people who we are targeting are interested in fitness, are physically active, are competitive, and are driving to make a difference in the community. The target market is split between males and females. The target age range is approximately 25-45 (this is a broad range but that is because this event will look to engage several corporate teams, teams from colleges and universities, gyms and fitness centers, individuals who are passionate about cycling and fitness, and those looking help reduce violence in Chicago)
