Icon-Design Kurzbeschreibung

We need a logo for our software! We are an X ray equipment manufacturer and we have our in-house software for image acquisition. We currently need a new icon for the our Veterinary software named "Sirius" for Windows 10.
Our current icon is an outline to a dog's head with a star where the eye should be. The company has been using famous explorers and famous stars (sirius, sygnus, Magellan, etc...) as project code names.
The proposed icon however can be anything but it would need to somehow incorporate Xray!

Enclosed is the old icon, a previous similar project for our human software and a screenshot of the actual software.
