Logo design for restaurant- modern take on Vietnamese food.

Local based family is launching a small restaurant in an upscale neighbourhood in town.

They are differentiating their restaurant with other current Vietnamese restaurants by providing more of a high quality, modern menu and environment. For example the plating will be more creative with a "hipster" and more "local and Vancouver Island / West Coast" look.

This will be a family business opened by siblings and their mother. The recipes are based on generational recipes originated in Vietnam. This is somewhat of a "passion" project that has been decades in the making with the local community continually asking them to open a store front. The siblings have been part of the local community in Victoria, BC for over 35 years.

The menu will be simple but very high quality with efforts to locally source as many ingredients as possible. We want the look to be simple but trendy.

The look and mood of the restaurant will also incorporate a bit of the family's history and tradition. It should reflect the siblings dual culture and sensibilities of being born in Vietnam but growing up on Vancouver Island for most of their life. So kind of a "East meets West" feel and "tradition meets modern" feel as well.

Definitely more of a lean towards modern though.

People wanting locally sourced, quality ingredients/food. A fresh take on authentic Vietnamese food based on traditional and secret family recipes. Appealing to the "hipster" "yuppy" "foodie" crowd that doesn't mind paying a little more for high quality food.
