CD-Cover-Design Kurzbeschreibung

Hi, my name is Melissa Laurel and I need a design for my first album. It will be a Digipak, 4 panel (1tray) and disk. (I will be using diskmakers to print the CDs. Please see http://www.discmakers.com/templates/ for digipak template and design specs.)

The musical genre of this album is sacred/religious/gospel- solo mezzo soprano with solo piano accompaniment. The musical style is traditional with a few pieces that have a more contemporary feel.

I would like to see designs that have the following:

FRONT COVER (Panel 1):
Photo of the artist, name of the artist, and album title: Hear My Cry, O God (see attached). Try to create the feeling that the artist is alone in the shadows and light from heaven is pouring down onto her face as she is crying out to God. Font for the artist name in a flowing script-like calligraphic handwriting.

BACK COVER (Panel 2):
Photo of the artist and the track list (see attached).

INSIDE PANEL (Panel 3 - Back side of Front Cover):
Dedication, Special Thank You, and Credits (see attached). May include a picture of the recording artist.

CD TRAY PANEL (Panel 4):
Background using the design elements and colors used throughout, but no photos of the artist.

CD DISK DESIGN:
Name of the artist and album title on background using design elements and colors used throughout, but no photos of the artist.

I would like to see some 'sophistication' (for lack of a better word) in the design. It may be elegantly simple, or more elaborate- something well thought out down to the choice of font style and placement. Please feel free to use your imagination and creativity. The final design should enhance the photo of the artist and go with the overall prayerful theme of the album title.

• For the front cover, please use photo P1140955. For the back cover, please use photo P1140515.

Schön zu haben

• Retouch the artist photo to remove any incidental blemishes. Remove any distracting elements like in the photo backgrounds, unless you think it goes with the design theme. Crop photos as necessary. Please use your best judgement on whether to keep the photo background or to enhance it, add on to it, or completely change the backgrounds and/or to add other design elements and ornamentation. If another background is used, make sure it does not clash with what the artist is wearing and there is still good contrast between the photo and the background. One idea could be to use a off-white/light grey background on the outside covers and red on the inside covers. Ornamentation should be light, translucent, and subtle.
