Leaside Tennis Club Needs a Logo Designed

I have a design in mind, and I was wondering if the bulldog on your logo is an important element of the design.
Thanks for your question. I have just tracked down that information. The crest that is has been used for so long is the official mark for the old Borough of East York in which the club resides. East York no longer exists as it was swallowed up by Toronto in an amalgamation some years ago. A long-standing member of the club last night told me the British Bull Dog was used because the population of the Borough (and the club) was very British at the time. The club is very different now (multi-cultural) so it is not necessary for the bulldog to be included but if it is an element you want to include your design would likely have appeal to the original membership. Hope this helps. I am a relatively new member to the club so don''t have the benefit of the historical info. Had to seek out an older member.
Hi.
Are you keen to keep the crest concept as part of the new logo, obviously in a more up to date form. Without the intricate detail?
Hi Tony,
That is an element that would appeal to our original members. They are very resistant to change so introducing a new logo will probably cause a bit of a ruckus. Anything that can help them see a bit of the old with the new would go a long way to having your design short-listed for consideration by the Board. So yes, if you can incorporate the crest concept with a more modern twist (I personally dislike the intricate detail) then I would encourage you to do so. Hope this helps. Look forward to seeing what you come up with.
