The Provence-Alpes-Côte-D'azur Region (hereinafter PACA Region) has received from the State the concession of the secondary network of general interest of the Railways of Provence (hereinafter CP) constituted by the railway line Nice / Digne-les-Bains. This line is not part of the National Railway Network (NRF) but of the secondary network. This century-old railway linking Nice to Digne-le-Bains has a double vocation. It provides, in its urban part, the link between the city center of Nice and the plain of the Var, with 44 shuttles daily. It is then used mainly by employees and students. In the upper part, from Plan du Var to Digne-les-Bains, the route offers, through unique landscapes, access to the mountainous territories with an outlet on the Val de Durance and a tourist service to the area. CPs in figures: • 151 kms of track • 1,000 civil engineering structures • 4 daily flights between Nice and Digne • 1 daily A / R between Nice and Annot • 44 peri-urban shuttles • 400,000 passengers per year The name " Train des pignes "is commonly used by the public to designate the Provence Railways. As the site's statistics and satisfaction surveys show, it enjoys a very high reputation, a positive image and a strong evocative force. It is time to benefit from these advantages and to use it in the official communication of the Railways of Provence. The whole tourist communication will now use the term "Train des Pignes" by the Railways of Provence. This slogan makes it possible to use the name "Train des Pignes" as well as to link it to the "Fer de Provence" structure. The title "Train des Pignes" by the Railways of Provence will be used on the portal site and the site dedicated to tourism. The domain names letraindespignes.com and letraindespignes.fr will be reserved (traindespignes being already reserved). The domain letraindespignes.fr will be used for the tourism site. On the other hand, the Railways of Provence will continue to use the domain name trainprovence.com for its communication. All tourism communication will now use the new logo "Train des Pignes" to which will be added the text "by the Railways of Provence". This slogan makes it possible to use the name "Train des Pignes" as well as to link it to the "Fer de Provence" structure.

In the spring and autumn, it is composed mainly of groups (associations, tour operators, bus companies, holiday centers, travel agencies, ...). In July and August, they are almost exclusively individual tourists (couple and family). Out of these two seasons, the tourist clientele is mainly school and associative. The main target is therefore families in July / August and retirees.
