Logo-Design Kurzbeschreibung

We need a logo design for a company we are starting in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. We sell goods made from Tartan fabric as well as Tartan fabric by the metre. While tartan is known for it's connection to Scottish/Irish culture and primarily the Kilt, our goal is to create items that the masses would be interested in and can be worn day in and out (e.g. scarves, ties and shawls, bags). We also want the company to feel new and fresh...not focus on tradition but how to make tartan modern. That said, we would prefer that the logo NOT speak to the Scottish/Irish connection, but rather focus on the fabric itself and pattern of checks and lines that makes tartan recognizable and distinct among fabrics. Another take may be to focus on the "forever" aspect, using symbols that represent this (such as the eternity symbol, for example) and encorporate the fabric aspect into this design. We would like to see designs that use the colours blue, green, and variants. As well, we would like to see the name incorporated in the logo, and perhaps also a second version without the entire name (maybe an acronym or image that references the full logo) that can be used on clothing tags.

• Clear text with some sort of image incorporated. We want it to be eye catching as it will be used on our website as well as in print media. Also need a version that can be used for smaller applications but still be read (think clothing tag).

• The tartan pattern in some way.

• Anything Scottish or Irish in nature. This is about the fabric and not the culture.
