Logo-Design Kurzbeschreibung

This is an app that reads picture books to small children (ages 1-6).
I need a visual for the splash screen of the app / website as well as a (derived) appicon.

My thoughts and sketches for the mascotte are of a friendly looking (amicable) monster (feel free to re-interpret the shape / type of the monster) reading to a (bunch of) children.
For the children I would like to go for the cuteness factor of Agnes (from despicable me) which I tried to draw into a male / female character in one of the attached sketches.

The visual style I'd like to go for is that of the blue monster attached: bright colors, not too much detail

The format I'd like is svg so I can scale the images to other material besides the app (website, handouts, etc).

As for the logo I don't want to much going on (cleaner/simpler = better) but I'm not sure how to pull that off. Maybe leave (some of the) the children out (or maybe the monster).
