Logo-Design Kurzbeschreibung

Own Grown is a new company in what is a relatively new industry. We need a logo that will communicate what we (and the industry) are all about. Something professional and attractive; but not too slick or gimmicky.

We sell aquaponics products in Queensland, Australia and aim to expand to the rest of the world. We are about sustainable food production on premises -whether it be an apartment balcony, suburban backyard, cafe courtyard or a restaurant rooftop.

In simplistic terms, aquaponics is the combination of aquaculture (production of fish) and hydroponics (production of plants). On their own, an aquaculture system or an a hydroponics system requires a lot of resources (including water) and produce considerable waste (often toxic). But by combining the two systems, they literally feed off each other. The waste in the fish water is broken down by naturally occurring bacteria into nutrients to feed the plants. The plants, in turn, filter and cleanse the water before it is returned to the fish.

The result is an almost fully self-sustainable ecosystem that by its very nature is organic. Chemicals and fertilisers forming the basis of other growing methods are not tolerated in an aquaponics system. The resulting produce is guaranteed to be an organic.
