Logo-Design Kurzbeschreibung

Hi there,

We need a logo for our new organization: Sustainable Fisheries.

We are a scientific organization meant to educate about sustainability, communicate seafood news, and explain fisheries’ role in global food systems.

Our organization will function 100% online with the logo (and variations of the logo) being used throughout our website and social media presence.

We would like the logo to include our name, “Sustainable Fisheries” with University of Washington either spelled out “University of Washington” or abbreviated to “UW”. A variation of the logo that could accommodate both would be best.

We are a group of scientists that want to appear as scientific, trustworthy, and knowledgeable. The logo should convey that while also giving appreciation for sustainability and the human relationship to fish as food.

Colors: we are open to colors in the logo. Our website color palette is not finalized, but we assume it will be either blue or green focused with one dull, grayish accent color and one brighter color like red or salmon. The crux of our website will be articles written black text on white background, but headings, hyperlinks, and titles can/will be colorized. Please provide Hex color codes used.

Shape and imagery: We are open to any shape so long as it looks good in a large website header and a twitter avatar. The shape of a fish, fishing boat, sushi roll, or some other ocean, seafood, or nautical image would also work in addition to more traditional square, circle, etc. Get as creative as you’d like. Minimal or maximal or something in between.

Logos we like that might inspire: Humane Society, Sierra Club, Monterey Bay Aquarium, World Wildlife Fund, Ocean Conservancy.

• Ability to stand alone as a logo without logo text (like an icon). Ability to use "Sustainable Fisheries" by itself and "Sustainable Fisheries; University of Washington" interchangeably. Similar to how WWF can present just the panda, the panda and "wwf" or the panda and "world wildlife fund."

Schön zu haben

• Fish, seafood, nautical imagery.
• Blue or Green color palette. With ability to also be all black on white.
