Logo-Design Kurzbeschreibung

We need a logo design for a new company based in Sydney Australia.
The company is an investment firm focused on international (US & China) and Australian equities.

The company name is based on the Australian native Golden Orb weaver spider (Nephila Plumipes) which is a unique species that creates a golden silk for its webs. The founders of the company liked the multi-symbolism of using a native Australian animal and the concept of a golden web to carry the image of global interconnection and wealth building.

The final design should ideally use the colours gold (gilt) for the web, black and cream for text and background.
The founders have initially considered a business card design whereby a web is outlined in thin, gold/gilt from the top left. With the intent to print on a light but warm cream card.
They are keen that the design should be considered elegant and subtle.
