I DO NOT WANT DESIGNERS TO USE THE PHRASE "STRANGE MYSTERIES" IN THE LOGO. If you read my description, I want you to come up with something completely new. i want to get AWAY from that phrase FOREVER. YOU choose the new name too.
I am actually trying to rebrand my Youtube channel, which currently is called "Strange Mysteries." You can check it out at youtube.com/strangemysteries.
I would attach some assets but you can see everything by just going to the youube channel.
I'm open to almost any idea or design. Something unique...almost uniquely inverted. I need both the new name for the channel and a logo. So really, you're free to come with whatever you like pending you feel you understand what I have tried to describe below Combine the logo and the name as one thing if you want. Or even just make a logo that has no words but emotes elegantly what I'm trying to say. The only place i'm starting from is the direction that I want to go in.
Right now we are so far away from the brand we currently portray that we've literally begun to just make fun of ourselves. I got stuck with this name and logo four years ago and I absolutely hate it....Then we just kept growing and now we are starting to become very scientifically oriented, but at the same time leave that lingering suspense or doubt And to not have any fury to look into an idea someone might have about something that seems absolutely but that we would do from an actual real perspective without trying to hype it Because honestly, there's so much crazy information out there if you know where to look and how to read it (academic journals) that there is no need to add any sort of hype to it.
We use legitimate research from legitimate journals of academia and we come across absolutely insane ideas people have. I like that because not only are we credible, but we are still trying to blow people's minds with things they have never heard before.
We make sure to back up everything we say. We want people know that when they watch our videos, they are just getting bullishit. So if we generally do present something profound it doesn't feel like they're watching some random show on to the that is hyping things up...Because ironically once you understand what's really going on in science you don't need to hype things up.
The current associated logo is a picture of a ghost hand - see attached. And our topics have nothing to do with that. It's almost blasphemy. They have to do with the questions that scientists at the top of their field can't figure out. The unknowns that we, at the sharpest edges of humanities knowledge..can't figure out...but that we somehow feel that the answers to are out there..and as we take this journey as a species the only thing we realize is that we know much less than we did before. Questions do not lead to answers. Questions only lead to more questions.
We probably go farther then any show I have ever seen in terms of citing credible research, logic, and making sense while still maintaining this aspect of the unknown. We also somehow manage to add in a dash of humor (our writer is a comedian..but any hint of us being funny in any sort of logo or name is something I would want to completely avoid. No one is funny if they tell you that they are funny. Especially if they cover Had depth how consciousness relates to quantum decoherence which really is time since quantum entanglement effects within an entangled system of particles happen Instantaneously, regardless of the distance between them. Yet it is impossible to send or transfer information. In this way, because time is also information. All these things aren't just random thoughts either, they come from peer-reviewed research that has been published.
A good comparison would be a better version of Through the Wormhole with Morgan Freeman, except we can't do all the fancy film footage or talk about morgan freemans childhood since No one cares about that. We don't have the budget to do interviews with professors at various universities ehom did something special - And ironically because of our name and what represents they would never want to be associated with us either - trust me - I've asked.
We also believe our voiceover guy is better than Morgan Freeman.
As I hope that I have conveyed, we are trying to accomplish something very special. We strive to do different topics than the normal ones that everyone else does. We strive to do topics that you just would never think of. At least that's our goal. And recently but slowly, yet surely we are accomplishing this.
Obviously something so generic, such as "Strange Mysteries" which isn't even memorable...It just sounds like keywords that have been stuffed into a Youtube channel name, It doesn't convey the fact that we do have credibility It conveys the opposite of that - It also doesn't sound like the feeling one gets when they have a profound moment of epiphany where suddenly everything makes sense.
Imagine seeing the phrase strange mystery as a channel or show name with a ghost hand as its logo. What is the first thing you think of? Crap on Youtube.
I needs something unique...that doesn't sound I hired people to come up with a random name and new logo for the channel just because we wanted to say "hey now we have a logo and a cool name"...Something that conveys a uniqueness and what were about in a very elegant and poignant way.
Because we have so many subscribers and so many people already know Our name the phrase has even been branded...Which creates a difficulty.
We went to retain the ability for fans to know we are overdoing but at the same time transform, The best way can see doing this is to do it in a sort of phase type way, which may just be something you had to figure out once by no the destination that want to reach out in terms of the logo and the name that are feel suits us.
I would encourage you to watch some of our newer videos If you'd like to understand more It's a must as if we focus on the product so much and just forgot about some of the basic things.. And they don't want to go down a rabbit hole with this association that is like a disease and genuinely end up stuck there.
I don't want to sound like him overdoing it, but Looking for something very different very unique, and very special...Am sure that other people looking for logo say something similar.... But the thing is, those qualities are exactly what we're about.
