I’ve written a book about the Christian Church and how it’s drifted from it’s original mission to make disciples. I ask the question, “have we produced more Pharisees than disciples?” The Pharisees started out good, protecting the Law of God (Old Testament), the Temple (God’s dwelling) and the Priesthood (God’s representatives). Somewhere during the quiet years between the Old and New Testament they changed from protecting to controlling those three systems. I think the First Century Church started down the same path, and never self corrected. Today, I believe the Church has been trying to control the Bible, the Church and the Pastors, creating a Pharisaical system that reproduces more controllers than followers (disciples).
