**UPDATE** Remember that the case is supposed to be unique and that it will be molded. It should stand out without being gaudy. The handle should be unique as well. Maybe integrate the handle into the molded halves? Don't use standard hardware as this will not be a standard case.

**UPDATE** Consider the possibility of playing with the edges. They don't have to be the standard convex round. They can be beveled or a concave radius or some exotic shape that you create. Consider the fancy edge profiles on granite countertops. Consider how this would work at the corners.

** We are looking for a classy attractive shape for the EXTERIOR of a new briefcase. This is a businessman's power-briefcase. We don't want anything odd like a round briefcase or anything plain and featureless. Ultimately, it should look like something an accomplished man would be proud to carry into any situation.

** Get creative with this contest! The case can have tapers, protrusions, bosses, whatever surface features you think add to the look/design. But don't overdue it. The case should not look like it belongs on a spaceship.

** This goal of this contest is have multiple attractive distinct designs. We may select multiple winners or we may select none depending on the quality and attractiveness of the entries. If the cases are distinctly different but very attractive, it is possible that the same contractor could win more than one prize.

** We are a manufacturer that is looking to work directly with designers in the future to produce a full line of cases with a multitude of interiors. The next contest will be for possible interiors of the case.

Muss haben

• The overall dimensions of the case should be 21" long, 13.5" tall (excluding the upright handle), and 5"-6" wide.
  
  Render the case in gloss black with a complimentary handle. No textures necessary at this point. Don't neglect the design and shape(s) of the handle and how it complements the rest of the case.
  
  The case will be molded and both halves will be the same so the seam where the two halves meet will be in the middle.
  
  Concentrate on the aesthetic aspects and integration of the case, handle, and any trim or decorative features that you may include.
  
  Bumpers, feet, or nubs should be included on the bottom of the case.
  
  If you want to include decorative features, metal trim, decorative plates for later engraving/customization, etc. that give your design character and make your design stand out, then great! Decorative flair and intricate details are encouraged. Any trim rendered should be rendered in gloss black or matte silver color.
  
  The CAD files are to be provided by the selected winner(s). The selected models are not to be sold in any form to anybody else after selected. The winning contractor(s) should expect to sign a nondisclosure agreement giving us all rights to the content produced. These CAD files should be in one of the following formats: DWF, DXF, CATIA V4/5, IGES, PRO/E, STEP, or Solidworks.
